IBPS BANK PO

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is an autonomous agency that conducts various exams for aspirants wanting to make a career in the Indian Banking Sector.

IBPS conducts the following exams

·         PO (Probationary Officer) Exam

·         Clerk Exam

·         RRB (Regional Rural Bank) exam

·         SO (Specialist Officer) Exam

Candidates must clear the written exam and are then called for interviews. Based on the interviews they are placed in different banks all over the country

IBPS PO Exam

The IBPS PO exam is conducted once every year to recruit various officers to the post of Probationary Officer or Management Trainee. It is available in the online form only. The first stage is a Common Written Exam (CWE) which happens in 2 stages –

·         Prelims

·         Mains

The CWE is an objective type paper with multiple choice questions. All sections except English are available in both English and Hindi options

 The Prelims are for 100 marks for 100 questions. The duration of the exam is 1 hour.  It includes the following sections

Negative marking to the tune of 0.25 is also done for incorrect answers. The candidates need to get the minimum cut off marks in each section. Those qualifying are then eligible to take the main exams.

In the mains the following 2 sections are also added

1.      General Awareness and

2.      Computer Knowledge.

Negative marking will be applicable in this section also. The candidate needs to clear the minimum cut offs in every section to qualify for the interview round.

 

IBPS PO Interview

The selected candidates from the main exams are then called for the interview round. This round also has 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks for the interview are 40% (35% for reserved category candidates)

The final selected candidates are decided basis the combined performance in Mains & Interviews- with Mains having a weightage of 80% and Interviews a weightage of 20%.

 

IBPS Eligibility

Students taking the IBPS PO exams should check the 3 main parameters to judge eligibility for the recruitment process.

Nationality- Participants must have one in these given citizenships.

·         Citizen of Indian

·         Citizen of Nepal

·         Citizen of Bhutan

·         A Tibetan refugee

·         Migrated Peoples from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

 

Educational Qualification -  A Graduation Degree from any recognized University of State govt. Or Central govt. There is no minimum percentage or CGPA required.

Age Limit :  The minimum age for application is 20 years and the maximum age is 30 years. The candidate should be born between 02-07-1986 to 01-07-1987 (both days inclusive)
